Maria Fragkou is an assistant professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Chile. She holds a PhD in environmental sciences (ICTA – Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona) and a master's in environmental technology (Imperial College). She has 15 years’ academic, policy, and field-based experience in environmental issues, focusing both on technological and social aspects. Her research focuses on water management and politics in Chile, urban sustainability, natural resources scarcity, and environmental justice and vulnerability from a political ecology perspective.
