Dr. Peter Cole is of St'at'imc and Celtic heritage. He is an Associate Professor (Indigenous Education) in the Department of Curriculum & Pedagogy at the University of British Columbia (UBC). His scholarship centres on equivalency of Indigenous knowledges and research methodologies, narrativity and orality, and ecojustice and sustainability learning. Prior to coming to UBC, Peter worked as Associate Professor at the University College of the North, Head of First Nations Education at University of Victoria, and as Assistant Professor, Environmental Studies at York University. Peter’s current research focuses on regeneration of traditional ecological knowledges, languages, and practices in Canada and Peru. He is Co-Advisor of the MEd in Ecojustice & Sustainability Education, and Co- Director of the Peru Global Seminar, Ecology, Technology & Indigeneity in the High Amazon.
