​Édgar Javier ​González Gaudiano

Édgar Javier González Gaudiano has a Ph.D. in Philosophy and Education Sciences. He is currently part of the Institute for Research in Education at the University of Veracruzana. His work (since 1983) on environmental education stands out, which has led him to collaborate with numerous government institutions and international organizations. Among these collaborations, we can point out his Mexican environmental education strategy presented to UNESCO and WWF, his support for the National Environmental Commission of the governments of Chile and Guatemala; the Ministries of Education of Brazil, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic and the Ministries of the Environment of Cuba and Argentina.

He is also the founder of the Education and Training Center for Sustainable Development of the Ministry of the Environment, Natural Resources and Fisheries (Semarnap). He has worked as an advisor to the Secretary of Public Education, taking charge of the environmental and sustainable development education issues between 2001 and 2006. He also participates as an active member in various international associations (such as the North American Association for Environmental Education, the Education and Communication Commission of the World Conservation Union, and the UNESCO Reference Group for the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development.) He has received the Award for Ecological Merit in the Academic Sector category (2004) and the UANL Award for Research in Humanities (2007).

His publications include seven and fifteen collaborative books; he has also participated with more than fifty chapters in books published both in Mexico and abroad. He has presented forty articles in peer-reviewed journals and more than fifty national and international journals. His work has been published in numerous languages: Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, and Catalan.
